Smell The Roses Even If You Are Busy

I used to suffer from Busy Sickness.

I was so busy rushing through life – speeding at times – to get to something. 

Now I can’t even think what I was so busy rushing to.

That “busy” period of my life is a blurrrrrrrrrrr for me.

Looking back, I was addicted to being busy.

And I see now, in society, it’s become a badge of honor to say you are busy and then, if you are not, there must be something wrong with you.

My husband, Mike, used to say to me “Tessa, stop and smell the roses.”

It used to really annoy me.

Couldn’t he see how busy I was?

I’d get around to it when I’d got through all the busyness.

Then I’d be able to stop and smell the roses.

Then I’d be able to enjoy life.

Then I’d be able to do all those things with him.

But until then …….. busy, busy, busy ….
